Dr. Zaher Hani

Biography

Zaher Hani is a professor at the University of Michigan, specializing in nonlinear partial differential equations (PDE). He completed his M.A. and Ph.D. at the University of California, Los Angeles. His research primarily focuses on equations modeling wave-type phenomena called nonlinear dispersive PDEs, which arise in quantum mechanics, nonlinear optics, plasma physics, oceanography, and general relativity. His work aims to understand the solutions of these equations deterministically and probabilistically, contributing to diverse mathematical areas such as harmonic analysis, PDE theory, dynamical systems, probability theory, and analytic number theory.
