Biography

Zahra Kalantari is a Professor in the Division of Water Environmental Engineering at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Her research focuses on understanding the impacts of climate change on water resources, emphasizing the interactions between the atmosphere, oceans, ecosystems, and society. She combines innovative data modeling techniques and machine learning to address complex human-nature systems, particularly in the context of sustainability and environmental management. As the Director of WaterCentre at KTH, she leads research activities that promote water-related innovations for a sustainable future, fostering collaboration between researchers, industry partners, and civil society. Kalantari has contributed significantly to advancing the field of Environmental Science, securing funding from prestigious organizations including the Swedish Research Council and the European Union.
