Biography

Zahra Tajbakhsh is a lecturer in the Department of Optometry at the University of Western Australia. She received her Bachelor degree in Optometry and a Master of Science in Optometry from Iran. Zahra completed her PhD at the School of Optometry and Vision Science at the University of New South Wales in Sydney in 2022. With years of dedicated experience in patient care, research, and teaching in Optometry and Vision Science, Zahra aims to promote diversity in STEM fields, having been recognized as an inaugural PhD champion for women in mathematics and science at UNSW. Her research interests include ocular surface disease, myopia control, in vivo confocal microscopy, and contact lenses. Zahra is actively involved in projects aimed at improving eye health literacy in disadvantaged communities in Western Australia.
