Biography

Zaida Rahaman is a registered nurse, educator, and researcher with a diverse clinical and theoretical background. Her expertise spans pediatrics, children’s mental health, family nursing, and community health. Dr. Rahaman has significant experience in senior administration and is involved in independent health consulting, as well as conducting community-based research. She completed her PhD in Nursing at the University of Ottawa, specializing in community health and Indigenous governance in healthcare. Her research focuses on Indigenous Youth Mental Wellness and community engagement. Dr. Rahaman has taught at both undergraduate and graduate levels and has supervised and mentored graduate students and early career researchers. Her areas of interest include Population Public Health, Health Education, Healing Arts, Holistic Wellness, Indigenous Health, Truth, and Reconciliation, as well as mental wellness for children and youth. In addition to her academic roles, she is a member of several professional organizations, including the College of Nurses of Ontario and the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario.
