Biography

Zaniar Ghazizadeh is currently a fellow in the Clinical Electrophysiology program at Stanford, having completed his Internal Medicine training at Yale School of Medicine and a Cardiology fellowship at Stanford. He obtained his medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences and has spent several years as a post-doctoral fellow at Weill Cornell Medicine and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Zaniar's work concentrates on identifying mechanisms underlying cardiac arrhythmias using experimental systems that include genetically engineered animal models and human pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiac cell types. His ultimate goal as a clinician-scientist is to leverage this framework for drug discovery, aiming to identify new therapeutic strategies to prevent and reverse specific arrhythmias.
