Biography

Zara Page is a casual academic at the Faculty of Medicine & Health at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney. She graduated in 2020 with Honours Class majoring in Neuroscience. In the same year, Zara was awarded the Dementia Centre Research Collaboration PhD Scholarship, which enabled her to continue her research as a PhD candidate at the Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing (CHeBA). Her doctoral research focuses on the cultural and linguistic factors that potentially impact performance on standardised neuropsychological assessments among older adults from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. Zara has a keen interest in the innovation and development of culturally and linguistically informed diagnostic tools and processes aimed at delivering equitable healthcare services to older adults in diverse communities, with the goal of improving early diagnostic strategies for dementia in CALD individuals. She is actively involved in international dementia research initiatives and was selected as the 2022 Alzheimer’s Association ISTAART Ambassador. Zara dedicates her time to both domestic and international collaborations and networking opportunities, where she is often invited to give talks and lectures promoting her work.
