Dr. Zbigniew Truchlewski

Biography

Zbigniew Truchlewski is an Associate Professor at the Global Studies Institute of the University of Geneva. He is a renowned political economist specializing in European political economy and politics. His research interests include EU integration, polity formation, crisis politics, solidarity, and austerity. He has contributed significantly to academic discourse, having published two forthcoming books with leading publishers, addressing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on European Union polity-building and the challenges posed by shadow threats to EU integrity. Previously, he was associated with the PETGOV group at the University of Amsterdam and served as a Swiss Government Excellence Scholar. Truchlewski completed his PhD at Central European University, where he was awarded the doctoral dissertation prize for his exemplary work. He has mentored academic talents and is an active member of the Max Weber Fellowship at the European University Institute, participating in various projects and enriching the political economy research field.
