Biography

Zeeshan Sheikh is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Dentistry at Dalhousie University, specializing in periodontics. With degrees in Dip.Dh, BDS, MSc, and PhD, he is a trained dental clinician and biomaterial scientist. His research focuses on biomaterials, specifically in the areas of bone regeneration, tissue engineering, and periodontal regeneration. Dr. Sheikh is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in the specialty of Periodontics and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He has more than 60 research publications, reviews, book chapters, and editorial work in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Sheikh's extensive training includes experience at Baqai Medical University, Queen Mary University of London, McGill University, and Toronto, and he is recognized for developing novel biomaterial options for bone grafting and alveolar ridge augmentation. In addition to his research, he actively delivers conference talks and continuing education courses both locally in Canada and internationally.
