Biography

Zeeshan obtained his degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry (Honours) from Queen Mary, University of London, and his PhD through an EPSRC Scholarship at the EPSRC Biomedical Materials IRC, also at Queen Mary, University of London. He has held notable Fellowships from the EPSRC, Leverhulme Trust, and the Royal Society. His academic career includes positions at several universities, including Queen Mary University of London, University College London (UCL), University of Portsmouth, De Montfort University, and currently, the University of Manchester. His research is highly interdisciplinary, focusing on Pharmaceutics, Biomaterials, Advanced Engineering, and Materials Engineering & Manufacturing with an emphasis on emerging themes. Currently, he supervises around six PhD students and has successfully overseen the completion of 24 PhD projects. His research group has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles and presented at more than 300 events, actively contributing to the field of pharmaceutical sciences. He leads the Pharmaceutical Technology Group, which comprises over 15 academic staff members, engaging in diverse interests across the pharmaceutical sector including drug delivery systems and advanced manufacturing techniques.
