Dr. Zeinab Hosseinidoust

Biography

Zeinab Hosseinidoust is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at McMaster University. With a research focus on bacteriophage bioengineering, she is leading innovative technologies aimed at disrupting and revitalizing the antimicrobial industry. These efforts are crucial in advancing the global battle against superbugs, which have become a significant challenge in healthcare and industry alike. After obtaining her PhD from McGill University, she pursued postdoctoral training at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, further enhancing her expertise in the field. Her scholarly work includes various publications and outreach in chemical and biomedical engineering, emphasizing the need for reliable biocontrol methods that emerged in the mid-20th century with the discovery of antibiotics. As a Canada Research Chair, Hosseinidoust is committed to pushing the boundaries of current scientific understanding and application in antimicrobial solutions.
