Biography

Zelio is currently a Research Fellow at the College of Engineering and Computer Science at the Australian National University. He received a Master of Science in Physics with a specialization in Radiation Hadrotherapy from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, in collaboration with the National Research Center (CNR). He later completed his PhD focusing on the development of complex disordered photonic materials for sensing applications. His current research interests involve the development of theoretical and experimental frameworks for plasmonic-photonic-assisted catalysis, with particular attention to hot carrier generation and the extraction and injection of adjacent molecules into semiconductors to drive chemical reactions. His work emphasizes both the theoretical underpinnings and the practical applications of these advanced materials in catalysis.
