Željko Ivezić obtained his undergraduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Physics from the University of Zagreb, Croatia, in 1990 and 1991, respectively. He earned his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Kentucky in 1995. After obtaining his doctorate, he worked on dust radiative transfer models and wrote the code Dusty. In 1997, he moved to Princeton University to contribute to the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. He took on a professorship at the University of Washington, Seattle, in 2004. His scientific interests include the detection, analysis, and interpretation of electromagnetic radiation from astronomical sources. Currently, he is particularly focused on the Rubin Observatory/LSST project, where he serves as the Construction Project Director and previously held the position of LSST Project Scientist. His teaching contributions include courses such as ASTR 597 on Observational Astrophysics.
