Biography

Željko Tomović leads the Polymer Performance Materials group which develops new fundamental concepts in macromolecular chemistry and polymer materials. Guided by structure-property relationships, he aims to improve existing polymeric materials and design novel polymers, particularly focusing on the performance of materials and their circularity. His research includes the development of novel synthetic methodologies that render existing polymers into new structures that are recyclable. Tomović combines polymer synthesis with detailed molecular and morphological property characterization to expand the knowledge base of fundamental polymer science and advance new technologies. He has a particular interest in new polymerization strategies for creating novel polymeric materials that have industrial relevance and high-performance applications. His goal is to develop future-ready polymers and materials.
