Biography

Zenzi M. Griffin is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Michigan State University in 1993 and completed her PhD in Cognitive Psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1998, with a minor in Linguistics. Before joining the University of Texas at Austin in 2008, she served as an Assistant Professor in Psychology at Stanford University and later at Georgia Tech, where she was promoted to Associate Professor in 2005. Dr. Griffin's research focuses on language production, speech errors, and psycholinguistics, with particular attention to how the planning of words and sentence structures impacts fluency. Her current projects include studies on learning and retrieving personal names. She is also actively involved in mentoring graduate students with interests in language production and collaborates on publications involving bilingual children. Dr. Griffin teaches courses on eye movements in language and human language processing, integrating her research into her teaching.
