Biography

Zeynep Pamuk is an Associate Professor of Contemporary Political Theory and a Professorial Fellow at Nuffield College, University of Oxford. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in ethics, politics, and economics from Yale University and earned her PhD in political science from Harvard University. Prior to her position at Oxford, she served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Government at the London School of Economics and the Department of Political Science at the University of California, San Diego. Pamuk's recent book, "Politics of Expertise: Use of Science in a Democratic Society," published by Princeton in 2021, examines the relationship between science and democracy, exploring how funding for scientific research can influence decision-making and the application of new technologies in societal contexts. Her work has been recognized with the American Political Science Association's Foundations of Political Theory Section Book Award.
