Biography

Zhaohui Wang joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Alberta as an Associate Professor in the Fall of 2024. She received her Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Connecticut in 2013. She began her academic career at Michigan Technological University as a tenure-track Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in 2019. Dr. Wang has actively participated in the organization of multiple IEEE/ACM conferences and has served as a regular reviewer for various prestigious IEEE/ACM journals and conferences. She has held important roles such as Technical Program Committee Co-Chair for the 2019 ACM International Conference on Underwater Networks and Systems and Associate Editor for the IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society. Her research primarily focuses on wireless communications, with significant emphasis on underwater acoustic applications. Dr. Wang's interests include underwater acoustic communications networking, channel modeling, and machine learning applications in acoustic communications. She is keen to mentor motivated Master’s and PhD students interested in cutting-edge research in this field.
