Zhaohui Wang joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Alberta as an Associate Professor in Fall 2024. Additionally, Dr. Wang has held the position of Associate Editor for the IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society since 2020. Her research areas include wireless communications with a major focus on underwater acoustic applications. Dr. Wang has received multiple awards, including the NSF CAREER award in 2017 and various accolades for her contributions to the field, such as the Women Innovators Award from the Connecticut Technology Council in 2013 and the Outstanding Reviewer recognition from the IEEE Journal of Oceanic Engineering. Dr. Wang is actively looking for motivated Master's and Ph.D. students interested in conducting innovative research in underwater and under-ice acoustic communications.
