Biography

Zhaohui Wang joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Alberta as an Associate Professor in the Fall of 2024. She received her Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Connecticut in 2013 and subsequently joined Michigan Technological University as a tenure-track Assistant Professor, where she was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in 2019. Dr. Wang has served on the organizing committee for several IEEE and ACM conferences and is a regular reviewer for premier IEEE and ACM journals and conferences. She was the Technical Program Committee (TPC) Co-Chair for the 2019 ACM International Conference on Underwater Networks and Systems (WUWNet) and has been an Associate Editor for the IEEE Open Journal of Communications Society since 2019. Dr. Wang has received multiple awards, including the NSF CAREER award in 2017 and recognition from the Connecticut Technology Council in 2013 and 2014. Her research focuses on wireless communications, particularly underwater acoustic applications, covering areas such as channel modeling, transceiver design, and mobile acoustic communication networking. Dr. Wang is keen to supervise motivated Master's and Ph.D. students interested in conducting cutting-edge research in this field.
