Zhaoyang Fan is a tenured Associate Professor of Radiology and holds a joint appointment in the Departments of Biomedical Engineering and Radiation Oncology at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California (USC). He is also a full member of the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. Before joining USC, he served as an Associate Professor of Biomedical Sciences at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and was the Technical Director of the 3-Tesla MR imaging core. He has been appointed as an affiliate faculty member in the Departments of Bioengineering and Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles. His research expertise lies in MR imaging with a focus on developing and clinically translating novel MR machine learning methods for fast and precise assessment of human diseases. His current research interests include the diagnosis and characterization of cardio- neuro-vascular diseases, quantitative cancer imaging, and imaging-guided radiation therapy. Dr. Fan has authored 140 peer-reviewed publications and 260 conference abstracts. He is a Principal Investigator on NIH-funded projects and serves as an active reviewer for several national and international funding agencies, conferences, and journals. He has received numerous awards for his contributions to the field, including being named a Fellow of the Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance and receiving the Distinguished Investigator Award from the Academy of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging Research in 2022.
