Dr. Zhe Chen

Biography

Zhe S. Chen is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and the Department of Neuroscience at New York University. His current research emphasizes the integration of computational and experimental techniques to explore neural circuits and population codes. He focuses on combining multidisciplinary approaches, including electrophysiology and computational modeling, to investigate critical questions in neuroscience, particularly within the field of neuropsychiatry. Dr. Chen collaborates with experimental neuroscientists on exciting projects related to learning and memory associated with hippocampal-cortical circuits, thalamic-cortical circuits involved in working memory and executive control, as well as the development of real-time brain-machine interfaces targeting pain circuits. With a strong background in computational statistics and machine learning, Dr. Chen is advancing the frontier of NeuroAI and computational psychiatry to tackle complex analytic challenges in clinical research contexts.
