Dr. Zhen Bi

Biography

Zhen Bi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Penn State University. His research primarily focuses on Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics, investigating concepts such as topological phases of matter, quantum phase transitions, and critical phenomena. He is particularly interested in Moiré physics and the anomaly in two-dimensional materials. Zhen earned his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 2017 and completed postdoctoral research as a Pappalardo Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2017 to 2020. He has contributed to notable publications in high-impact journals, delving into topics ranging from Landau ordering phase transitions to bosonic symmetry-protected topological phases. His expertise contributes significantly to the understanding of quantum materials and their emergent properties.
