Biography

Dr. Zhezhen Fu joined Penn State Harrisburg as an assistant professor in 2022. His research focuses on solid-state electrolytes for lithium metal batteries, energy storage technologies, and the processing of ceramic materials for structural applications. With a strong foundation in mechanical properties of materials, Dr. Fu has contributed to the field through more than 30 peer-reviewed journal publications and over 20 conference presentations. He obtained his Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University, completed a postdoctoral position at the University of Maryland, and served as an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville prior to his current role at Penn State Harrisburg. He is dedicated to advancing knowledge in materials manufacturing, including ceramic materials, ceramic-based composites, and additive manufacturing, as well as optimizing energy storage solutions through innovative solid-state batteries.
