Biography

Zhi Chen received his PhD degree from the University of Regina in Canada and holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Dalian University of Technology in China. He began his career at the University of Regina and has also worked with the National Research Council Canada (NRC) and in the Oil & Gas industry. In 2004, he joined Concordia University as a professor in the Department of Building, Civil, and Environmental Engineering. Zhi Chen’s research interests focus on Environmental Engineering, particularly on modeling the fate and transport of pollutants in the environment, risk assessment, air pollution, and the development of environmental application systems. He has contributed to pollution control planning, management of soil and groundwater contamination, and the protection of coastal environments. His teaching spans both undergraduate and graduate courses related to Environmental Impact Assessment and Pollution Control.
