Biography

Zhibiao Zhao is an Associate Professor in the Department of Statistics at Penn State University. He earned his Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Chicago in 2007 and received his B.S. in Statistics from the University of Science and Technology in China in 2002. His research focuses on developing theories and methods for non-stationary time series data, with applications in climatic studies, economic analysis, and financial markets. Zhao has contributed to the field with various publications that explore time-varying coefficient models and robust estimation techniques. Notably, he has worked on topics including the stock return-inflation puzzle, conditional Value-at-Risk estimation, and local autocorrelation processes in locally stationary models.
