Dr. Zhigang Peng

Biography

Zhigang Peng is a professor in the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology, with a specialization in Ocean Science and Engineering. His research focuses on various aspects of seismicity, including remote sensing and nonlinear wave dynamics. He employs high-resolution imaging techniques to study fault zone structures and temporal changes in the Earth's properties. Dr. Peng's interests also include spatio-temporal seismicity patterns, earthquake triggering, non-volcanic tremors, and slow earthquakes, as well as seismological studies of the Earth's interior. His work has contributed significantly to advancing the understanding of seismic phenomena and their implications for earthquake risk assessment.
