Dr. Zhiqun Lin

Biography

Zhiqun Lin is a Professor in the School of Materials Science and Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. His research primarily focuses on nanostructured functional materials, particularly within his group known as NanoFM. The research involves an extensive investigation of materials, including polymer-based nanocomposites, block copolymers, and a variety of nanocrystals such as quantum dots, magnetic, metallic, and semiconductor metal oxide nanocrystals. The objectives of his research include understanding the fundamentals of nanostructured materials and creating controllable nanostructures to exploit their structure-property relationships for developing multifunctional materials. These materials hold significant potential for applications in energy conversion technologies like solar cells and hydrogen generation, as well as energy storage in batteries, and various electronic, optical, and magnetic devices. Lin’s current projects encompass a robust strategy for creating monodisperse functional nanocrystals, energy storage materials, and thermoelectrics, bringing a comprehensive approach to nanotechnology and biotechnology.
