Biography

Zhiting Tian directs specializing computational modeling and experimental characterization of energy transport. He joined the Sibley School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Cornell University on July 1, 2018, and holds the title of Eugene Leinroth Sesquicentennial Faculty Fellow. Prior to this, he was an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech from 2014 to 2018. His research interests include micro/nanoscale heat transfer, thermal energy conversion and storage, thermal management, multiscale thermal transport in organic, inorganic, and hybrid materials, as well as quantum computing and biomedical engineering. He also teaches courses such as Introduction to Mechanical Engineering, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Nanoscale Energy Transport and Conversion, Future Energy Systems, and Atomistic Modeling of Materials.
