Biography

Zhiyong Jason Ren is a Professor in the Civil Environmental Engineering Department at Princeton University and serves as the Associate Director of Research at the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment. He is also part of the associate faculty at the High Meadows Environmental Institute and the Princeton Institute for Science and Technology of Materials. Ren's research focuses on the Water-Energy Nexus, particularly in areas related to water sector decarbonization, resource recovery, environmental chemical processes, and carbon capture utilization. Ren's contributions to the field have been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the 2024 Fellow designation from the International Water Association and the 2021 Paul L. Busch Award.
