Biography

Zhiyuan Yu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Washington University in St. Louis in 2025 and holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, obtained in 2019. His research interests focus on trustworthy machine learning systems, AI-enabled cyber-physical systems, multimodal generative AI, usable human-centric security, and intelligent healthcare systems. Yu has made significant contributions to the field, earning several honors, including being named a Top Reviewer for the 32nd ACM Conference on Computer Communications Security in 2025 and receiving the Machine Learning Systems Rising Star award from NVIDIA Headquarters in 2024. His work has also been recognized with distinguished paper and artifact awards at the USENIX Security Symposium in 2024 and 2023, respectively. Yu is dedicated to advancing the interface of artificial intelligence and security while mentoring the next generation of computer scientists.
