Biography

Zicheng Lei is a Senior Lecturer in Finance at King’s Business School, King’s College London. He holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Warwick, an MSc in Finance from the University of Manchester, and a BSc in Accounting from Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics. A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Dr. Lei's research interests lie in corporate finance, focusing on areas such as corporate payout policy, artificial intelligence, mergers and acquisitions, green finance, climate finance, earnings management, corporate political activism, corporate social responsibility, and empirical behavioral finance. His published work appears in esteemed international journals including the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Review of Accounting Studies, Journal of Corporate Finance, and the British Journal of Management. Additionally, Dr. Lei's research has been highlighted by the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance and the FinReg Blog. As an active contributor to his field, he serves as an ad-hoc referee for leading academic journals and has been recognized for his teaching excellence with multiple nominations for King’s Education Awards and Dean’s Awards. Dr. Lei is currently accepting new PhD students.
