Dr. Zico Kolter

Biography

Zico Kolter is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University, where he is also affiliated with the Machine Learning Department. His research primarily focuses on machine learning, with an emphasis on making deep learning algorithms more robust and safer. He is dedicated to understanding how data influences the functionality of machine learning models. To this end, he has developed methods for assessing and improving the robustness of deep learning systems, while also building complex modules that serve as optimization solvers integrated within deep architectures. His work is instrumental in creating new types of architectures for deep networks that are both innovative and practical.
