Biography

Ziran Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Lyles School of Civil and Construction Engineering at Purdue University. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of California, Riverside, in 2019, following a Bachelor of Engineering degree at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications in 2015. Dr. Wang leads the Digital Twin Lab, which focuses on creating digital replicas of real-world entities by leveraging artificial intelligence, big data, cloud and edge computing, and mixed reality technologies. His research primarily targets the connected automated vehicles domain, for which he has significant experience as a Principal Researcher at Toyota Motor North America. Additionally, he is extensively involved in academic publishing, having authored numerous peer-reviewed papers and filed over 50 patent applications in the U.S., Japan, and China. His main research interests include Digital Twin technology, Autonomous Driving, Human-Autonomy Teaming, and Personalized Recommendation systems.
