Biography

Ziyang Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley. He was born in 1990 and completed his B.S. in Chemistry and Computer Science at Peking University in 2011. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Harvard University in 2016, where he was also awarded the HHMI International Predoctoral Fellowship from 2012 to 2016. Following his doctoral studies, he was a Damon Runyon Postdoctoral Fellow at UCSF from 2017 to 2020. In 2021, he was recognized as one of C&EN News's Talented 12. Since 2022, he has been serving as an Assistant Professor, focusing on the development of small molecules, synthetic chemistry, and their applications in drug discovery, particularly in cancer and autoimmune diseases.
