Biography

Zoe Falomir is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computing Science at Umeå University, Sweden. She holds a double PhD from the University of Bremen, Germany, and Universitat Jaume I in Spain, where she also received the Extraordinary PhD Award in Experimental Sciences and Technology. Her career includes extensive experience in technology transfer with the industry, particularly with C-Robots. She has been recognized with the City Castellón Experimental Science award for her contributions to automation in scrubber machines and automatic mosaic assembling. Falomir completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Bremen Spatial Cognition Centre in Germany, where she was a Marie Curie Fellow and a Junior Fellow at the Hanse Wissenschaftskolleg. As a principal investigator, she has led research projects funded by the Excellent Initiative and has been awarded the prestigious Ramon y Cajal postdoctoral fellowship by the Spanish Ministry of Science. Over the past decades, she has published more than 40 articles related to artificial intelligence, collaborated with over 50 co-authors, and contributed to multiple books and conference papers. Her research interests are multidisciplinary and include Spatial Reasoning, Knowledge Representation, Human-Machine Interaction, Machine Learning, Cognitive Systems, and Creative Problem Solving.
