Biography

Dr. Zukui Li holds a Bachelor's degree in Automatic Control from the University of Science and Technology of China, obtained in 2002, and a Master's degree in Control Theory and Control Engineering earned in 2005 from the same institution. He completed his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at Rutgers University in 2010. Following his doctoral studies, Dr. Li worked as a postdoctoral research associate at Princeton University from June 2010 until December 2012. He joined the University of Alberta as an Assistant Professor in January 2013, and has since been promoted to Professor. His research spans several critical areas, including process operations with a focus on scheduling, planning, and supply chain management, as well as process design and control, particularly in energy systems applications. Dr. Li specializes in nonlinear mixed integer optimization, emphasizing techniques that address uncertainty through robust optimization, stochastic programming, and parametric programming. Additionally, his work includes applications in biomedical engineering, particularly concerning anemia management and biomarker discovery.
