Dr. Zuo Feng Zhang

Biography

Zuo-Feng Zhang is a professor at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health in the Department of Epidemiology and at the UCLA Department of Medicine. He serves as the Associate Dean for Research at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and is the Scientific Director of the UCLA Central Tumor Registry, as well as the Director of the UCLA Molecular Genetic Epidemiology Training Program. His research interests encompass cancer epidemiology, cancer prevention and control, and molecular genetic epidemiology, particularly in relation to cancers and HIV-related malignancies. Dr. Zhang's research team investigates mutations, methylations, polymorphisms in tumor suppressor genes, and conducts genome-wide association studies of cancer. He has chaired and been a member of numerous Ph.D. committees, contributing to the training of over 30 Ph.D. graduates and 30 post-doctoral fellows since starting at UCLA in 1997. Dr. Zhang is a prolific author, with 332 peer-reviewed articles and 22 book chapters published in national and international scientific journals, making significant contributions to the fields of epidemiology and public health.
