Biography

Zuzana Obertova is a Lecturer in Forensic Anthropology at the University of Western Australia. She has extensive experience in forensic science, having previously worked as a facial examiner at the Forensic Science Institute in Zurich, Switzerland. Dr. Obertova has contributed to research projects related to trauma dating at the University of Milan and has been involved in age estimation for living persons at the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Düsseldorf, Germany. She holds doctoral degrees in biological anthropology and palaeoanthropology from Comenius University in Bratislava and Eberhard-Karls University in Tübingen. Additionally, she has a degree in Community Health from the University of Auckland. Dr. Obertova is active in professional societies, serving as Vice-President of the Forensic Anthropology Society of Europe and as a General Board Member for the WA Branch of the Australian & New Zealand Forensic Science Society. Her research interests include forensic anthropology, facial image comparison, human osteology, and biostatistics. Dr. Obertova also plays a role in academia as the Assistant Editor for Forensic Science International and is involved with various forensic organizations.
