Bozhi Tian is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Chicago. He focuses on probing the molecular-nano interface between biological and semiconductor systems, with an emphasis on novel material synthesis and device concept. Bozhi Tian was born in Xi’an, Shaanxi, China. He obtained his B.S. and M.S. from Fudan University in Shanghai, China, and his A.M. and Ph.D. from Harvard University. He was a postdoctoral scholar at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Children’s Hospital Boston before joining the University of Chicago as an Assistant Professor in July 2012. Bozhi Tian's research interests include imitating cellular behavior using semiconductor nanomaterials, developing nanoelectronic tools for studying cellular systems, and creating biomimetic nanoscale materials and devices.
