About the position

We are seeking passionate and dedicated individuals who are interested in joining a PhD program at the Shukla Lab at the University of Wyoming. Our lab focuses on the following key research areas:1. Ribosome Heterogeneity and Mood Disorders: We investigate how stress-induced changes in ribosome composition contribute to mood disorders using postmortem brain samples, stress-exposed animal models, and primary neurons.2. Single-Cell Transcriptomics and Biophysical Modeling: We utilize single-cell transcriptomics and biophysical models to study stress and recovery mechanisms, aiming to identify new therapeutic strategies for stress-related conditions.Ideal Candidate:·     Mandatory: Must be passionate about pursuing a career in science.·     Enthusiastic about engaging in translational neuroscience research.·     Holds a master’s degree in Neurobiology, Cellular or Molecular Biology, or a related field.·     Proficient in molecular biology techniques, cell culture, and microscopy analysis.·     Comfortable with animal work and handling.·     Possesses strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently.·     Exhibits excellent written and oral communication skills.·     Demonstrates critical thinking, scientific rigor, and meticulous attention to detail. To Apply: Please submit your CV, a statement of research interests, and the contact details of three referees who can provide insights about your qualifications to Dr. Rammohan Shukla at [email protected].
