Biography

Mike Valente is an Associate Professor at the Schulich School of Business, focusing on Business Sustainability and serving as the Director of the MBA Program. His research delves into the interaction between organizations and society, particularly through the lens of sustainability, examining this domain via organizational theory, institutional theory, and social movements. He investigates how organizations respond to social, ecological, and economic challenges and the governance practices that can enhance sustainability performance. Valente is actively involved in academic publishing, holding positions on the editorial boards of various journals, including Organization Studies and the Journal of Business Ethics. He has received several accolades for his teaching excellence and research contributions, including multiple awards from the Richard Ivey School of Business and York University.
