Biography

Angela Siegel is an academic in the Faculty of Computer Science at Dalhousie University, specializing in Combinatorial Game Theory, Graph Theory, and Computer Science Education. Her research focuses on the transition of students from secondary to post-secondary education, inclusive teaching methodologies, and various mathematical disciplines including Number Theory and Discrete Mathematics. Siegel has authored and contributed to numerous publications in refereed journals and conference proceedings, addressing both theoretical aspects of mathematics and practical applications within educational contexts. She actively participates in conferences, presenting her findings and advocating for the improvement of student experiences in computing and mathematics. Her educational background includes a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Dalhousie University, along with a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Marine Geophysics. Siegel is dedicated to enhancing the learning environment for computing students, relying on innovative teaching techniques and the integration of technologies such as LEGO Mindstorms to facilitate understanding. Her contributions to the field not only highlight her expertise in mathematical concepts but also her commitment to education and student success.
