Alan M. Saks is a Professor in the Department of Management at the University of Toronto Scarborough, where he also holds a cross-appointment in the Organizational Behaviour area at the Rotman School of Management. His research primarily focuses on organizational entry, school-to-work transition, job search, recruitment, socialization, and onboarding of new hires. He has studied various aspects of workplace dynamics including written transfer training, employee engagement, and workplace spirituality. In addition to his research, Professor Saks teaches courses in Organizational Behaviour, Research Methods, Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Training and Development, and Human Resource Planning Strategy, contributing significantly to the academic and professional discourse within these fields.
