Biography

Nina Nørgaard is an Associate Professor in the Department of Culture and Language at the University of Southern Denmark. Her academic journey includes a PhD in English Stylistics, awarded in 2002, and a higher doctorate (dr.phil.) in Multimodal Stylistics, obtained in 2020. Nørgaard specializes in multimodal communication, integrating aspects of health communication and sustainability into her research. She investigates how visual communication plays a critical role in promoting sexual and reproductive health globally, notably through her leadership in the International Sexual Health Promotion Network. Recent projects include studies on multimodal approaches to environmental sustainability, health communication strategies targeting young adults, and the semiotics of corporate testimonial videos. She is a recognized speaker at international conferences, promoting insights into multimodal critical discourse analysis and communication.
