Ray Siemens is a Distinguished Professor at the University of Victoria, with expertise in Renaissance literature, textual culture, editorial theory, and Humanities Computing. His research interests encompass early Tudor poetry, digital humanities, book history, scholarly editing, pedagogy, and scholarly communication. He directs the Electronic Textual Cultures Lab and has been actively involved in various digital humanities projects, including the Implementing New Knowledge Environments Project and the Digital Humanities Summer Institute. Siemens has served in leadership roles for the Alliance of Digital Humanities Organizations and the Canadian Society for Digital Humanities, among others. He has received prestigious awards such as the Alliance Digital Humanities Organizations Antonio Zampolli Prize and the U Victoria Humanities Award for Research Excellence. His work has been supported by significant funding bodies, including the Canadian Foundation for Innovation and the Social Science Research Council of Canada.
