David Swanston is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Management, University of Toronto Mississauga. He has a strong background in hospitality and foodservice consulting, having founded Swanston Management & Consulting in 1997, where he works with small and medium-sized clients to provide strategic planning, develop new concepts, and evaluate business operations. In 2003, he established Focused Industry Training Seminars Inc., delivering public training seminars and contract training services in collaboration with provincial industry associations across Canada. David has contributed to trade magazines and presented at various regional, national, and international trade shows and conferences. His teaching experience includes courses such as MGT374 Operations Management and MGM200 Analysis Decision-Making Control, where he focuses on enhancing students' classroom experiences through simulation games, guest speakers, and case studies.
