Biography

Jill Waymire Paine is an Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior at IE Business School. Her research interests focus on organizational change, leadership, and motivation within today's constantly evolving business climate. Professor Paine explores how leaders can effectively motivate and engage followers, particularly in change initiatives through targeted, persuasive communication. Her dissertation received the Susan G. Cohen Doctoral Research Award from the Academy of Management. An active researcher, she frequently presents at leading conferences such as the Academy of Management and the Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology, and serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Applied Behavioral Science. Professor Paine has published a book titled 'Organization Change: Comprehensive Reader.' With over 15 years of experience as both an internal and external organizational development consultant, she has collaborated with firms across various industries, including legal, financial services, pharmaceuticals, technology, and public relations, with clients such as Pfizer, General Electric, and Omnicom Media Group. Her teaching style integrates case analyses, group discussions, and simulations, aimed at fostering an experiential, participant-centered learning environment that inspires ownership of the learning process by her students.
