Dr. Justus Humphrey

Biography

Justus Humphrey teaches writing courses focusing on creative writing, including fiction and creative nonfiction. He holds an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, an M.A. in English from the University of Maine, and a B.A. in Theatre from Northern Arizona University. He has been a member of the faculty at Penn State Harrisburg since fall 2012, with prior teaching experience at Harrisburg Area Community College for four years. Additionally, he earned a Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education from Temple University Harrisburg. His professional interests include developmental writing and composition education, and he is actively involved in the Association of Writers & Writing Programs and Educational Testing Services. Originally from Southeast Alaska, he grew up in the mountains of Arizona, where he developed a passion for writing and storytelling.
