Robert Nachtrieb is a Senior Lecturer in System Dynamics at the MIT Sloan School of Management. He co-teaches the System Dynamics II elective for Executive MBAs and Sloan Fellows. Before joining academia, Nachtrieb was the lead scientist at Lutron Electronics, a global leader in lighting controls, where he was instrumental in developing various international standards for LED and fluorescent dimming. His tenure at Lutron spanned over a decade. He has chaired the Industrial Advisory Board of the US-China Clean Energy Research Center Consortium focusing on Building Energy Efficiency and holds a leadership position with the Lighting Controls section of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association, representing the U.S. in the International Electro-technical Commission's Controlgear Subcommittee. Notably, he received the IEC 1906 Award in 2013 for his contributions to the field. Nachtrieb is an active contributor to leading industry conferences and peer-reviewed journals, and he has several U.S. patents to his name. He also serves on the advisory board of BrightBytes, an innovative company in educational technology.
