Biography

Robert B. Duncan is a Professor Emeritus of Management and Organizations at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. He earned a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology in 1964, an M.A. in Sociology in 1966 from Indiana University, and a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from Yale University in 1971. His academic career includes serving as the Richard L. Thomas Professor of Leadership and Organizational Change at Kellogg, where he was also Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Provost. Duncan has taught extensively in the Executive MBA Program and has received numerous teaching awards throughout his career. His research interests encompass strategy formulation, strategic change implementation, and corporate culture transformation. He has published several books and numerous articles, and has been a Fellow of the Academy of Management, serving as its president in 1983. Duncan has consulted for various high-profile organizations, helping to shape executive strategies and organizational design. He has held several key academic positions, showcasing a distinguished career in management education.
