Professor Weigold joined the faculty in 2010 as the Director of Legal Research & Writing. In 2019, she became the Associate Dean of Experiential Learning, overseeing law clinics, externships, legal research writing, and skills courses. With twenty-five years of teaching experience in legal research, analysis, writing, and advocacy at various law schools including Cornell Law School in New York, she has developed a robust background in legal academia. Additionally, Professor Weigold has fifteen years of experience directing legal writing programs at both South Texas College of Law in Houston and the University of St. Thomas Law School in Minneapolis. Her teaching repertoire includes courses in Professional Responsibility, Comparative Legal Systems, International Human Rights, and International Criminal Prosecutions. Prior to her academic career, she served as a judicial clerk for the Chief Justice of the Texas Court of Appeals in Houston and worked as a senior staff attorney for four years. As a board-certified civil appellate law specialist in Texas, she has written legal memoranda, orders, and proposed opinions for over 250 civil and criminal law appeals. Moreover, she has conducted legal writing seminars and workshops for law firms and public interest organizations, and is active in national legal writing organizations, writing extensively on topics related to experiential learning, legal writing, and legal education.
